Business Briefs: Fitness events hosted by New Earth Market
New Earth Market in Yuba City is hosting fitness events every Saturday and Sunday through September for Fitness Month.
Saturdays will feature workouts in cardio and strength training at 8 a.m., provided by trainers from the Yuba City Racquet and Health Club.
For all ages and levels, the workouts will vary each week and include active stretching, body weight exercises, walking and light weights.
Sundays will include a 5K intermediate/advanced run and a ride with the Yuba-Sutter Cycling Club at 8 a.m. and a 4-mile run/walk for families at 9 a.m.
Helmets are required for the bicycle rides, with each ride about 30 miles.
Held at the market, 1475 Tharp Road, all events are free and open to the public.

Gastroenterologist joins Sutter North
Gastroenterologist Dr. Serag Dredar has joined the Sutter North Medical Group in Yuba City.
He received his medical degree from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Dredar also trained at Yale, completing a fellowship in advanced endoscopy and serving as a clinical instructor as well as finishing advanced training in the endoscopic management of gastrointestinal, biliary and pancreatic cancers.

H&R Block's annual career fair this week
An annual career fair hosted by H&R Block tax services provider is scheduled three days at 2620 Hurley Way, Sacramento.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, will include interviews conducted on-site.
The company's 50 local offices are seeking to fill more than 120 positions for the next tax season, including office managers, customer service representatives and tax professionals.

Sutter North adds cardiologist
Sutter North Medical Group has added cardiologist Dr. Gurbir S. Dhaliwal to its staff in Yuba City.
Fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, Dhaliwal received his medical degree from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in Amritsar, India.
He completed his residency at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. His professional interests include consultative cardiology, heart-failure management and lipid management.
