Blood drive set at high school
Maxwell High School is holding a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the school's band room, 515 Oak St., Maxwell.
All participants will receive a free T-shirt.
Donors must be in generally good health; 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent; and weigh at least 110 pounds. Photo identification is required.

Outpatient clinic topic of meetings
Public meetings to discuss proposed changes in management of the Sutter County Outpatient Medical Clinic are scheduled at several locations.
The possible changes are to strengthen medical services while expanding public health prevention services.
Meetings, all in Yuba City, are:
• Wednesday — 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hans Miller building in Richland Housing, 420 Miles Ave.
• Thursday — 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sutter County Public Health Auditorium, 1445 Veterans Memorial Circle.
• Nov. 3 — 4 to 6 p.m. at Mahal Plaza, 1719 Franklin Road.

Foundation honors people for service
Fremont Rideout Foundation thanked the community and its members during an Evening of Appreciation on Oct. 16.
Guests honored included:
• Dr. Stanley Nowinski of Yuba City, outstanding physician;
• Carole Spiller, volunteer of the year;
• Norma Giovanetti, community leader, for her service in raising awareness of breast cancer.
In addition, both Fremont and Rideout's auxiliary presidents, Joan Prouty and Patti Reardon, respectively, were honored for their leadership; and Donna Bertolini for time served on the foundation's board of directors.
