60th Anniversary: Devin
Longtime Olivehurst residents Pleasant K. and Myrtle “Tena” Devin, the former Myrtle Jones, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with dinner hosted by their children.
The couple were married Oct. 18, 1952, in Reno, Nev.
He retired from Frank M. Booth after 31 years and enjoys watching NASCAR, football and baseball.
A veteran of the Korean War, he joined the US Navy after graduating from Marysville High School in 1949 and was stationed on the USS St. Paul.
She is a homemaker and loves to read.
In the past she volunteered for the Olivehurst Parent-Teachers Association, March of Dimes, Olivehurst Little League and the election board.
A seamstress, she enjoyed making school dresses for her daughters.
Both were involved with their children’s school and sports events and love their cats.
They have four children, Peggy Gore of Olivehurst; Noretta Smith of Sand Springs, Okla.; Kevin H. Devin of Bothell, Wash.; and Raymond Devin of Anchorage, Alaska.
Their family also includes 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
