Riverbend Elementary School

• Fawn Ueberschaer and Oscar Moreno's Advancement Via Individual Determination seventh/eighth-grade students took a tour of the University of California, Davis, last week. They participated in an hourlong tour and learned about the amenities of the campus.
Franklin Elementary School
Yuba City
• The eighth-grade boys basketball team finished fourth out of eight teams in the Manzanita Tournament in Gridley. Ross Applegarth was named to the All-Tournament team. The Bulldogs are 4-2.
Tierra Buena Elementary School
Yuba City
• The second semester began recently with a variety of classroom activities to remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and what he stood for.
• Boys from the seventh-grade classes of Jeff Putland, Wendy Harrison and Debbie Mertes attended the annual Career Day Jan. 12 at Yuba College.
• Girls from the eighth-grade classes of Jeff Ferreira, Ann Johnson and Chris Reeson attended the Math and Science Conference Jan. 13 at Yuba College.
• Fifth-graders from the classes of Amy Camburn, Cynthia Sharp and Maria Smith are selling tickets to help pay for their weeklong Outdoor School experience at Shady Creek coming up Feb. 21 to 24.
