Encinal Elementary School

Live Oak

• Students and staff will celebrate a 40 point academic gain (790 to 830) on California State Testing over the past three years with a Jamba Juice celebration sponsored by the Encinal Parent's Club on Friday.

Staff will receive T-shirts. Medals will be awarded to students who improved more than 50 points in English language arts or math.

Luther Elementary School

Live Oak

• Students from Susan Fletcher's Yuba City High School special education class visited the Luther garden in hopes of beginning their own garden soon. Students picked tomatoes and asked questions.

• The Friday flag salute will celebrate the students who made academic gains of 50 points or more on California State Testing in language arts or math.

Tierra Buena Elementary School

Yuba City

• In honor of Veterans Day, Monday is a school holiday.

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Nov. 15 will be minimum days for students to provide time for parent-teacher conferences.

• On Nov. 16 there will be a dance for the seventh- and eighth-graders.

Lincoln Elementary School

Yuba City

• In recognition of the United States military veterans, school will be closed on Monday.

• Parent-teacher conferences will be held Tuesday to Nov. 16. Students will be excused from school at 1 p.m.

• Today there will be a third-grade concert starting at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room.
