Live Oak

Grinch Night set for today

PJs and pancakes are part of the annual Grinch Night set from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at Luther Elementary School in Live Oak.

Activities include a holiday boutique hosted by the Luther Parents' Club and pancakes for dinner served by the Live Oak Kiwanis Club plus games for students hosted by school staff and seniors from Live Oak High School.

Cost of the dinner is $3. Money raised benefits Luther students.

In addition, the Sutter County Sheriffs cadets are supervising parking.

Mid Valley

Exchange program seeks students

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad program is offering 65 full scholarships to US students to study abroad for a semester or academic year.

Applicants must be US citizens age 15 to 18 years old.

Applications, due by Jan. 10, are available online at yesprograms .org/yesabroad.

The program is sponsored by the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
