LOCAL ROUNDUP: Live Oak soccer comes up empty in title match
Orland High struck off a rebound with 15 minutes remaining in the Northern Section Division II boys soccer championship and held on to edge Live Oak 1-0 in Orland on Saturday.
"It was a really good game," said Live Oak coach Mike Owen, who admitted that while a loss to Orland in the title game hurts, he knows the Lions gave it all they had.
"My guys played their hearts out, and it was just a really good game to be apart of. Orland played really tough," Owen added. "It was a great season."
Live Oak (19-2-2) had an opportunity to score in the second half, but not in the first while facing the wind, Owen said.
