Letter: Voters will hold Herger responsible

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Concerning Mr. Keith Olbermann’s opinion of Congressman Wally Herger: The Constitution of the United States is, in reality, a matter of interpretation.

As far back as the 1860s, the writ of habeus corpus was set aside dependent on one’s interpretation of rebellion or seccession.

I’ve read the U.S. Constitution and I don’t even see “separation of church and state.”

I do, however, see “Congress shall make no law.”

Mr. Olbermann’s entitled to his interpretation, but that does not make Mr. Herger responsible to that interpretation.

I also must remind Mr. Olbermann that Mr. Herger’s right to the position he now holds rests with the people of the 2nd District of California, not him.

PAY HIKE?
What should the board of trustees do with the proposed $29,282 pay raise for Chancellor Nicki Harrington?
Rescind it. Now is not the time.
Give it to her. She should be compensated fairly and competitively.
