50th Anniversary: Paillex

Former Yuba-Sutter residents Gregg and Linda Paillex, née Hughes, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family.

Festivities included gatherings June 9 with friends in San Antonio, Texas, and on June 16 with family in San Francisco.

The couple were married June 16, 1962, in Yuba City and have lived all over the world during his military career, including in Japan and England.

They have been residents of San Antonio, Texas, for the past 20 years.

He graduated from Yuba City High School in 1958, Yuba College in 1960 and San Francisco State College in 1962. While at college he was in the US Marine Corps Reserve.

A Vietnam veteran, he retired as a colonel from the US Air Force in 1992 after 30 years of service.

He is a member of the Free and Accepted Masons California, Enterprise Lodge No. 70 of Yuba City.

She graduated from Marysville High School in 1959 and attended Sacramento City College.

Their family includes two children, Lisa Noyes of Valdosta, Ga., and Lori Cawley of Poquoson, Va., and four grandchildren.
