Olivehurst hosts parade Saturday

For those who didn't get enough holiday parade excitement last weekend in Marysville, another opportunity is coming up this weekend in Olivehurst.

The 17th Annual Olivehurst Christmas Parade, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, will fill the streets with brightly colored floats and celebratory music. The parade procession will start at Ninth and Olivehurst avenues and make its way up Olivehurst Avenue to Chestnut Road.

Parade entries will be judged on originality, appearance, effort, presentation to the judges and adherence to this year's theme, “A Very Berry Christmas.” Awards will be presented at 12:45 p.m. at Ella Elementary School.

The parade will go on even if it rains. Assembly for participants begins at 10 a.m. at 10th Avenue and Powerline Road.
