Gauche open for Mother's Day

Moms will get in free, with a paid admission, Sunday at Gauche Aquatic Park in Yuba City to celebrate Mother's Day, part of the park's weekend opening for the season.

Starting this weekend the park at 421 C St. is open from noon to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $4 per session; and $3 for ages 2 years and under and 60 and over.

The weekend weather forecast calls for highs in the low to mid-80s.

Children 11 years and under must be accompanied by someone at least 16 years old.

The park's features include a 25-foot waterslide, a competitive pool with diving boards, a "Sprayground" with shooting water features, an activity pool and a full concession stand.

Weekday hours start May 26, with the park open from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

The water park will be in full summer hours June 6 to Sept. 13, from noon to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 6 p.m. daily.

Adult lap swim, water walking and masters swimming, along with swim lessons are also available at the park.

Special events planned during the summer include Kids Swim for 6- to 10-year-olds; Tot Time for infants to 5 years; diving for ages 8 years and up; and twilight swimming.

The park will also feature movies and concerts.
