Letter: We deserve better from Obama administration
As I read the doom and gloom offered by President Barack Obama and his Cabinet secretaries regarding the sequester, I have to wonder what kind of an idiot the American people elected as president and what species of buffoons he has appointed to run the various federal bureaucracies.
We must remember that sequestration is not a reduction from last year's operating budget for any department. It is a reduction in the various increases ranging from 10-17 percent that each department has requested. The sequestration represents less than 3 percent of the budget increases requested by the president.
If I were a department head in the private sector and I could not operate my department with a 7 percent increase instead of a 10 percent increase in last year's operating cost, I would soon be out of a job.
If these buffoons in Washington can't operate their departments with 3 percent less of an increase over last year's operating cost without laying off hundreds of thousands of employees or closing air control towers or shutting down border patrols, or cutting off services to the elderly, or reducing education activities, they have no business working for the American people.
They are supposed to be some of our best and brightest. They now look like some of our dumbest. These people make the president look very foolish for appointing such ignoramus individuals and shame on the US Senate for confirming such lousy administrators. This administration has turned into a sham. We the people deserve better. It's too bad these shortcomings didn't surface before the last election.
