Air Force Staff Sgt. Francisco Y. Pio was named winner of the 51st Fighter Wing's Quarterly Weapons Loading Competition.
He was the team leader of the winning crew.
Pio, a load team chief with seven years of military service, is assigned to the 51st Fighter Wing at Osan Air Base, South Korea.
He is the son of Francisco Pio of Live Oak and Liticea Carrasco of Willows.

Army Pfc. Sandro Garcia graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
The son of Ismael and Olivia Garcia of Yuba City, he is a 2009 graduate of Yuba City High School.

Air Force Sr. Airman Kellen Sousa, a 2004 Wheatland High School graduate, was selected as Airman of the Month for July at Kandahar Air Base, Afghanistan.
He is the son of Mike Sousa of Wheatland and Kim Lassaga of Marysville.
He is a member of the 651st Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron out of Fort Bragg, N.C., serving on his third tour of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Army Spec. Nicolas R. Hansen has been assigned to the 1st Infantry Division of Fort Riley, Kan.
The son of Dave and Mary Hansen of Live Oak, he graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
He is a 2001 graduate of Live Oak High School.
