Letter: Planned Parenthood

I was among those who participated in the prayer witness at Planned Parenthood recently.

A young man who had visited Planned Parenthood approached us, noting that he was grateful for their services. He is able to get his birth control and STD testing and treatment if needed for himself and his girlfriends, and he has no problem with medical abortion.

He told us he is 22 years old, and has had sex with 24 women, all of whom he "loved." His words have hung heavily on my mind and heart.

Planned Parenthood has succeeded in educating a generation of our youth that sex is just another bodily function; these young people know nothing about respecting their own bodies or those of their partners.

In reality, Planned Parenthood is one of the causes of rampant STDs among our youths, with their encouragement of all kinds of sexual experimentation with multiple partners.

The young man has no clue what love really is, and what a precious gift he has stolen from all those young women and their future spouses. There is a cure for STDs and teenage and unwed pregnancies, but it will not be found within a Planned Parenthood clinic. It is called abstinence before marriage and lifelong fidelity. Sex is a mutual gift for husband and wife to share only with one another, not a toy to be used and discarded when one becomes bored.
