Letter: Gold Sox manager thanks community

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Another Gold Sox season has passed, and I want to thank the entire Yuba-Sutter community for your support. Your steadfast loyalty has been a key component to the success of our players and organization. This year was no exception.

Night after night our players could not wait to get on the field to perform for you. Every year the players go back to their home cities that span from Falmouth, Mass., to Detroit, Mich., to Grand Junction, Colo., to Las Vegas, N.M., to right here in Yuba City. Baseball players and their families all over the country are talking more and more about this special baseball town in Northern California. This is because of you.

This year, other teams have also commented on the incredible atmosphere that you generated at the ballpark by the lake.

Thank you Yuba-Sutter for making memories that will last a lifetime.

Jack Johnson,

manager, Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox

BACK TO SCHOOL?
The new GI Bill benefits vary from state to state depending on tuition and fees, replacing the previous flat stipend, and also includes a formula for private college assistance. Do you agree with this approach?
Yes, it allows veterans more choices of where to attend college.
I like it, but the private school policy is flawed in California.
I think it's too generous.
No, it pits states against each other.
