Yuba City tops Marysville
Alex Yang finally found his shooting stroke.
The Lindhurst High guard drained seven 3-pointers and finished with 30 points to lead the Blazers to a 75-64 victory over the River Valley boys basketball team in the Twin Cities Shootout finale in Yuba City on Friday night.
"He got out of his shooting slump," said Lindhurst coach Rick Wise. "It felt pretty good to see that."
Cedrick Thomas finished with 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for Lindhurst, which improved to 6-4 overall.
"It was a good win for Lindhurst tonight," Wise said. "We needed a win against a quality opponent."
Devin Ward finished with 17 points and dished out four assists for the Blazers. Thomas and Ward combined for four steals.
Jordan Noall led River Valley (3-7) with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Yuba City 56, Marysville 42
Three players in double figures led the Honkers past the Indians.
Tanner McAlister finished with 13 points, Gurpreet Singh had 11 points and Nathan Gillming tacked on 10.
Aran Dhillon contributed eight points, 10 rebounds and five blocks for Yuba City (3-4).
Marysville (3-8) was led by Anthony Lattuca's nine points and Brandon Graves' eight points.
