Sacramento man accused of sexual assault
A Sacramento man was jailed early Thursday, accused of sexually assaulting a Yuba City teenager, police said.
Willie Everett Joe Debise was arrested at 5:15 a.m. at the Yuba City Police Department. Police said the alleged victim, a teenage girl, was assaulted sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday.
Officers were called about 1:30 a.m. to a home on Oxford Court. Investigators believe Debise used force to assault the alleged victim, but said she was not injured.
"Aside from mental anguish, she is physically OK," Lt. Tom Tappe said.
Police said the girl is staying with family members and receiving care.
Tappe said Debise was familiar with the alleged victim.
"This is someone that had the trust of that family, unfortunately," Tappe said.
Debise had been staying in Yuba City off and on for several months, but his last known address was in Sacramento, police said.
Debise, 69, was booked into the Sutter County Jail without bail on suspicion of oral copulation by force and lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
He is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in Sutter County Superior Court.
