Police Blotter: Sept. 24, 2008

FELONY ARRESTS

• Justin Manuel Hernandez, 23, of the 2500 block of Lago Road, Yuba County, was arrested by the Sutter County Sheriff's Department at 9:40 p.m. Sept. 22 at Plumas Street and Franklin Avenue on suspicion of illegal weapon possession. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

• Kimberly Rissel Blackwell, 32, of the 2700 block of Moe Lane, Yuba City, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at her residence on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and making criminal threats. She was booked into Sutter County Jail.

• Jon Phillip Miller, 33, of the 2800 block of Kennedy Drive, Yuba City, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 4 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 2500 block of Moe Lane on suspicion of corporal injury to spouse. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

• Kenneth Raymond Krueger Jr., 43, of Sacramento, was arrested by the Colusa County Sheriff's Department at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the deparment on suspicion of forgery and second-degree burglary. He was booked into Colusa County Jail.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE ARRESTS

• Dion Joseph Houck, 36, of the 2100 block of Mulberry Street, Sutter, was arrested by the Yuba City Police Department at 10:47 p.m. Sept. 22 at Highway 20 and Tharp Road. He was booked into Sutter County Jail.

• Abel Villanueva Duarte, 24, of Lincoln, was arrested by the Wheatland Police Department at 8:42 p.m. Sept. 21 in Wheatland. He was booked into Yuba County Jail.

• Rachel Ann Branscum, 48, of the 2300 block of North Beale Road, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at 10:24 a.m Sept. 22 on North Beale Road. She was booked into Yuba County Jail.

• Lindsay Dawn Armstrong, 19, of the 5700 block of Alicia Avenue, Linda, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at 5:41 p.m. Sept. 22 at Alicia Avenue and Cedar Lane. She was booked into Yuba County Jail.

• Jesus Valazquez, 21, of Stockton, was arrested by the Williams Police Department at 1:56 a.m. Sept. 23 in the 2400 block of Zumwalt Road. He was booked into Colusa County Jail.

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
