Three Cheers: Business contributions appreciated

The program Sutter County Brown Bag, funded by a grant from the Sutter County Community Action Agency, offers bags of groceries to eligible low-income families in this county.

This program is located at 760 Stafford Way in Yuba City at the Yuba-Sutter Gleaners Food Bank. The people working in this program are volunteers and we are really proud of our job.I want the community to be aware of a very generous donation made to this program through the efforts of Jennifer Duran and staff of "Curves" in Yuba City and Jeremy and Amy Delay, managers at the Grocery Outlet in Yuba City.

Curves in Yuba City sponsored a food drive March 1-31 and received a total of 2,900 pounds of groceries. Curves agreed that CAN ( Christian Assistance Network) and Sutter County Brown Bag would share the groceries.

Grocery Outlet in Yuba City agreed to match the weight collected and agree to award one-half of all groceries collected to Sutter County Brown Bag program. Gleaners is please to inform the community through these good peoples efforts the "Brown Bag" program received an equal amount of pounds of groceries of their choice from Jeremy and Amy Delay, store manager, Grocery Outlet.

Thank you Curves and Grocery Outlet.

Mary Lou Byer, program manager
Y-S Gleaners Food Bank Inc.
