Usually when you looked at the Saturday edition of the Appeal-Democrat, you would see pages of real estate ads. Now all you see is pages of foreclosure notices, each of which is a wish, hope and dream of someone going down the tubes. The developer of the Yuba Highlands knew he would lose the upcoming vote on Measure N and the poor housing market, so he had no market for the development. This is why he now wants us to vote "no" on N.
He claims he will be back in four or five years with a better project; if he has a better project, why did he not present this better project now? Any future projects will be opposed, as was this one.
To the developer I have two things to say: First, stay in Rocklin. Secondly, take the land you have for this project, take the tax deduction and donate the land to the state to enlarge the Spenceville Wildlife Area.
