Cookies, pudding taken in Dollar Tree theft
A man was arrested on Thursday after he reportedly punched a store clerk at the Dollar Tree and fled with a bag of cookies and a four-pack of pudding cups.
Marysville police arrested Otoniel Carranza Jr., 30, of the 1700 block of Gloria Street, after responding to a report of a robbery in the 1400 block of B Street shortly after 4:30 p.m.
According to a press release, Carranza, "placed the items on the counter, punched the clerk in the face causing minor injuries, and fled."
It was not known what kind of cookies or flavor of pudding cups the suspect took.
Officers found him walking on the levee behind the store with evidence of the items in question.
"I guess he was feeling desperate," said Sgt. Chris Sachs. "In my 15 years of law enforcement, cookies and pudding cups are a new one for me."
Carranza was booked into Yuba County Jail on suspicion of robbery.
