What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? I was born in Anaheim — my family moved here when I was 6 years old.

What do you like about the area? The people, family, the friendly community.

Where would you like to retire to someday? Somewhere it's warm. If I wasn't a mom, I would move to San Diego.

What is the closest you've been to a famous person? The band Cake. They had a small concert in Oroville. They always give away a tree at their concerts. They brought a tree out on stage and asked someone to identify it. I raised my hand and said it was a sycamore — you take the tree home and plant it, take a picture of it and send it to the band's website. It's planted in a friend's yard — I never sent a picture.

Who has had a strong influence in your life? My grandma — she raised me the majority of my life and has been a positive influence.

What is one of your favorite memories? Growing up with my best friend Jasmin McLean. We didn't have phones, iPods, Facebook or anything else kids have these days. We had our imaginations. We'd go on safaris or pretend to get lost in the woods; we were mermaids in her pool.

What is your pet peeve? I like even numbers, so when I'm in someone's car and they turn their radio volume on an odd number, that really drives me crazy. I'll either turn it back to an even number or I'll look away.

What do you like about yourself? I'm pretty outspoken, sometimes a little too much.

What are you best known for? I have the best monkey-call imitation. Ask any of my friends.

Favorite places to go to in the area? I love San Francisco. Locally, the Happy Viking to watch football.

What would you do with a million dollars? Buy my grandma a house and give her a chunk of money to live stress-free, set aside some for college for my daughter, buy myself a house and invest the rest.
