Bicycle rider flees, chase ends in arrest

Corning police Officer Justin Jourdon walks Edward Stephen Rajewski, 24, of Corning, to a patrol car after he was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a public officer and two misdemeanor warrants.

It followed a foot pursuit that ended at 2:30 p.m. Thursday on the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue. Jourdon tried to make contact with Rajewski as he was riding a bicycle.

Rajewski said he ran because he was wanted on a warrant.

Officer Dave Pryatel found him hiding in vegetation and ordered him to surrender at gunpoint. Rajewski was booked into the Tehama County Jail. Bail was set at $10,500.
