Letter: Eating right key to being healthy

November 4, 2008 - 10:45 PM

We have found that all the foods we like are fattening, but the ones we really don't care about are really good for us. We don't do sugar at all and have tried giving up caffeine. We were told to become vegetarian to become healthier.

We have decided not to eat beef anymore but mainly eat chicken, turkey or fish more. When cooking remember the three "Bs": baked, broiled or boiled.

We try not to use salt and due to the fact it raises blood pressure.

It seems we lose weight a small pound at a time but easily put it back on really fast.

Eating is an important part of living and could be a life-or-death situation if we do not partake daily.
