Letter: Reid's actions deplorable
I realize that politics in America is a dirty business, but Sen. Harry Reid has sunk to a new low when on the Senate floor, a body where he is the majority leader, he spreads rumors about the presumed Republican candidate for president, Mitt Romney. I thought that the Senate was above such antics, but then I remembered some of the statements made by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
To my surprise, Anderson Cooper of CNN chastised Reid for what he did on the Senate floor. He even stated that someone could state that an anonymous source that cannot be named told them that Harry Reid beats his wife, and takes money from the mob in Las Vegas to protect their interests in Washington, DC. And that person could also say that it is up to Reid to prove otherwise. I agree with Cooper.
This seems to be the style of the Democratic Party, to spread rumor and innuendo with no proof, using anonymous sources, with no verification. David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel seen to be expert at this type of politics. The contents of this letter are my personal opinion.
