Loma Rica
Lioness Club stages breakfast
The Loma Rica Lioness Club is hosting a pancake fundraiser breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19 at the Foothills Lions Community Center, 5667 Fruitland Road, Loma Rica.
Breakfast is $5 and includes sausage, pancakes and scrambled eggs.
Proceeds raised will help Foothill Intermediate eighth-graders travel to Washington, D.C.

Canine rescue selling candy
Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue is selling See’s Candy for a Valentine Fundraiser through Tuesday.
The organization’s fundraiser will be held at the Yuba Sutter Mall, next to GNC, during mall hours.
Proceeds raised by the fundraiser benefit the rescue group, placing unwanted animals in permanent homes.

Youth receives Eagle Scout rank
Jason William Dysart, the son of Jason and Rana Dysart of Oregon House, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
A member of Boy Scout Troop 59 and a student at Camptonville Academy, the 12-year-old’s project was a Special Olympics track and field day held last May at the Yuba College track.
He started in scouting at the age of 6 and plans to earn every merit badge offered in the program. Currently, he has earned 65, with another 65 to go.
Dysart will attend the National Order of the Arrow conference and national youth leadership training later this year.

Garden club event tickets available
Tickets are available at several local businesses for the Sutter Buttes Garden Club “Before and After” fundraising drawing.
Those purchasing tickets have a chance to win a front yard spring spruce-up.
Tickets, $5 each, can be purchased at The Country Florist in Linda, The Brick Coffee House Cafe in Marysville and Yuba City Florist and Sperbeck’s Nursery in Yuba City.
The winner will be selected Feb. 28.

The Yuba County Seniors are hosting bingo games Saturday nights at 4979 Olivehurst Ave. in Olivehurst.

Telephone access workshop planned
The Yuba City Senior Center is hosting a telephone access program workshop on Thursday.
The telephones and devices make dialing easier, have higher volumes and allow hands-free use. The program is run through the California Public Utilities Commission.
This free, open to the public workshop starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Yuba City Senior Center at 777 Ainsley Ave., Yuba City.

Vendors sought for fundraiser
Vendors are being sought for a flea market fundraiser to benefit the Bridge Street School.
The fundraiser will be held Feb. 18 at the Cooper Avenue Baptist Church parking lot, 804 Cooper Ave., from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Deadline for reservations for vendor spaces is Wednesday. The cost is $10.

Meeting on AD/HD scheduled
Yuba, Sutter and Colusa residents are invited to attend a meeting on “Positive Power for AD/HD” Feb. 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cooper Baptist Church, 804 Cooper Ave., Yuba City.
The meeting will focus on how to help children be successful at home, in school and in the community.
Child care is available. The event is sponsored by Family SOUP and Yuba College Foster Kinship Care Education.
