Letter: Taxation overbearing

Let me begin by saying I am not rich. In the ongoing debate about President Barack Obama raising taxes on the rich I have long waited to hear any conservative bring up why taxing the rich harmful to us all.

Primarily the rich own large corporations, franchises, grocery chains, clothing stores, auto parts stores — the list goes on. If Obama is successful in raising taxes on them, they will raise the cost of their goods or services to cover the additional taxes, allowing them to maintain profit margin that make sense and necessary to remain in business. Inflation roars its ugly head while America is on the brink of a recession and bankruptcy.

Who is paying those additional taxes? The consumers — the poor, low-, medium- and high-income levels. Obama saying he will not raise taxes on anyone who makes less than $250K is laughable. He taxes every consumer and disguises it as a tax on the rich.

I would love to hear a Republican running for president use this information to expose the Obama big government sleight of hand that claims it will tax the rich while knowing they are taxing all Americans with overbearing taxation.

Taxing the rich equals inflation — again shrinking the dollar's value.
