Yuba City resident Richard “Red” Johnson celebrated his 90th birthday Wednesday at HomeTown Buffet in Yuba City.
He was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Trenton, Mo. The longtime Yuba-Sutter resident lived in Clipper Mills for 52 years before moving to Yuba City four years ago.
Retired from Soper Wheeler Logging Co. after 26 years, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and is a lifetime member of Thermalito Veterans of Foreign Wars Warren Scott Post 9602.
His family includes his wife, Betty; daughter, Nancy Wilson of Loma Rica; a grandson; brothers Ernest Jr. Johnson and Melvin Johnson, both of Yuba City; and sister Maxine Gerring of Red Bluff.
