Letter: Butte House risk sits behind wheel

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

First I would like to comment about Butte House Road. I don't think it's the road, it's the fools who drive 70-plus miles per hour causing the accidents. Straightening out the road will only cause higher speeds.

Second, in Marysville at Fifth and D streets there's an American flag up over the middle of the intersection that is faded and torn. Why doesn't the city use some of their wasted dollars to replace it? The flag etiquette brochures I have read suggests flags faded and worn should be disposed of legally and replaced.

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
Yes. We've gone too long with limited options for homeless families.
It's a good idea, but the fire station is a bad location for this.
No. The city has better things they can use the building for.
I'm not sure.
