One arrest in orchard robbery
A Marysville woman was arrested for robbery after she allegedly drove a man to an orchard, where two men brandished weapons at him, the Yuba County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday.
Elva Idania Rodriguez, 24, of the 200 block of East 18th Street, Marysville, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and booked into Yuba County Jail on $100,000 bail.
The department is withholding the victim's name because the investigation is continuing.
According to Capt. Ron Johnson, the victim was under the impression he was getting a ride Friday with Rodriguez to go fix a car.
Rodriguez instead drove to an orchard near Arboga and Broadway roads, where two masked men approached the car with “long guns,” Johnson said.
The suspects brandished the weapons, ordered the victim from the car and forced him to lay face down on the ground.
The suspects took a gold chain and wallet containing cash totaling about $450, Johnson said. The two men climbed into the car with Rodriguez and drove off, he said.
The victim walked home and reported the crime the next day, Johnson said. Based on his statements, deputies found Rodriguez and brought her to the Sheriff's Department to be interviewed and then arrested.
