Ditching deputies in trash bin fails for Olivehurst man

An Olivehurst fugitive was captured Saturday hiding in a trash bin on Arboga Road.

Daniel A. Rowden crawled out the trash can around 2:50 p.m. in a driveway in the 5600 block of Arboga Road, less than an hour after he crashed a motorcycle running from Yuba County sheriff's deputies.

"We've been looking for him for a couple of days," Sgt. Joe Million said. Rowden, 25, was wanted for a parole violation and fled from deputies a day earlier.

He was spotted riding a motorcycle around 2:15 p.m. around Alicia and Grand avenues and refused to stop when deputies tried to pull him over, Million said.

After letting a woman passenger off his bike, Rowden wrecked along a fire trail close to the railroad tracks and ran away. He was found hiding a short time later.

He was arrested with $185 in cash in his pockets and a pink cellphone.

Rowden complained of pain from the wreck, but refused medical treatment at the scene.

He was booked into the Yuba County Jail on the parole violation warrant and a fresh felony allegation of evading peace officers.
