Two-hitter leads Sutter Area

Brendan Ahlers threw a complete-game two-hitter, lifting the Sutter Area baseball team to a 8-1 victory over Peach Bowl Saturday in the District 2 Little League All-Star tournament.

Ahlers allowed one run, while fanning four and walking two. Ray Miller was 3-for-3, including a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. O.J. Van Oosterhut added three hits and an RBI, and Lesrek Rotajczak knocked home a run on one hit.

Davie Harper drove in a run for Peach Bowl and Zack Reeder had a hit.

Colusa 8, Westside 0

Cody Hansen hit two home runs and knocked in five runs, and Darren Swearinger allowed just four hits, struck out 12 in six innings as Colusa blanked Westside 8-0.

Swearinger only walked two in six innings. Nick Hansen knocked home two runs with a hit, and Chad Lederer finished 2-for-3.

Nathan Azevedo, Tyler Wells, Steven Perry and Dylan DeWit had a hit each for Westside.

MINORS

Peach Bowl 8, Marysville 6

Peach Bowl advanced to the championship game, taking an early 6-4 lead and holding off Marysville.

Shelby Carpenter hit a home run for Peach Bowl, and Samantha Thomas was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Andrea Hazel was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. Samantha Neher added two hits and an RBI, and picked up the win.

Kirsten Barton and Tressa Arostegui had two hits each for Marysville. Marissa Clabelle knocked in a run.

Sutter Area 24, Wheatland 7

Sutter Area jumped to a 10-0 lead after the first inning and went on to eliminate Wheatland.

Angela Poldervaart was 3-for-3 with five RBIs and three runs scored for Sutter Area, while picking up the win in four innings, allowing seven runs on four hits. Sarah Hungrige added two hits and five RBIs, and Halye Dockrey knocked home four runs.

Sydney Hagland and Taylor Heryford had two hits and an RBI each.

Kinney Guter and Amy Nichols each knocked home two runs for Wheatland, and Guter had two hits. Kristen Montgomery had an RBI.
