Ira Mims
Ira “Noel” Mims, 84, of Sacramento died Nov. 8, 2005, at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento.
Born in Oklahoma, he was a former Yuba-Sutter resident for 30 years.
He was a senior electrician in large construction and worked on the construction of the Oroville Dam.
He was a member of the Marysville First United Methodist Church, the Enterprise Masonic Lodge 70 of Yuba City and the Scottish Rite/Ben Ali Shriners of Sacramento.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Survivors include his wife Kathryn Mims of Sacramento; a son, Rodney Mims of Sacramento; a foster-daughter, Sharyn Read of Florence, Ore.; a sister, Melva Kuykendall of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Mims.
Donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital of Sacramento.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Marysville First United Methodist Church, 730 D St., Marysville, with Rev. Arthur Catterall and the Masons officiating.
