Garage sale to aid poor ends today
A garage sale hosted by Heart to Heart Outreach Ministries ends today.
The sale, to raise money to feed the poor, is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1040 Lincoln Road, Yuba City.

Marysville
Dinner benefits youth ministries
The First Presbyterian Church of Marysville is hosting a spaghetti dinner today for its children’s ministries program.
Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. in Huston Hall. The church is at the corner of Sampson Street and Rideout Way.
Tickets, sold at the door, are $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12 years.
Money raised goes to vacation Bible school and Kids Camp at Westminster Woods.
Yuba City
Crossroads church sets October events
A Classic Car Day is set at Crossroads Community Church in Yuba City, one of several free activities planned this month.
Old cars and motorcycles will be on display during the day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. A barbecue lunch will also be available.
Activities also include:
- The 21st Annual Western Round-up – Oct. 22 with a service at 6 p.m. and a family-style dinner at 8 p.m.
- Comedy Night – 7 p.m. Oct. 20 with comedian, singer and songwriter Aaron Wilburn.
- Annual Harvest Festival – 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31. Includes carnival game booths for children.

Sutter
Methodist potluck planned Wednesday
This month’s potluck dinner at Sutter United Methodist Church will be followed by a presentation by members of the Sutter Union High School Future Business Leaders of America and Teen Leadership Council.
The meal is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The FBLA and leadership council students will talk about current projects and activities.
In addition, church members are collecting newspapers for the current newspaper drive under the direction of Sutter High adviser Lori Burroughs.

Lutherans stage Oktoberfest
A traditional German dinner is featured in the Octoberfest Reformation Dinner sponsored by the First Lutheran Church in Yuba City.
Also including accordion music, the event is at 5 p.m. Oct. 22 at 850 Cooper Ave.
Tickets, available in advance in the church office, are $5 per person or $15 for a family of three or more. For more information, call 673-8894.

Catholic women plan social
Bunco is part of the October social hosted by the Young Ladies Institute 235.
The event, open to all Catholic women, starts at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Bishop Quinn Hall, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City.
The cost is $5.
