Cookies for a cause

Area children from 8 to 14 years old are doing their part to end childhood hunger by participating in the local version of The Great American Bake Sale put on locally by The Cookie Tree in Yuba City and sponsored by the FoodNetwork.

Local youngsters in the first Cookie Tree Baking Buddies Summer Camp are making a variety of baked goods during Tuesday and Thursday sessions until the actual Aug. 11 sale. Baked goods will include morning muffins, quick breads, cupcakes, cookies and frosted sugar cookies.

The actual sale will be Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Cookie Tree, 441 Bridge St., Suite C. Revenues will support the Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale.

For more information on the baking camp and sale, call The Cookie Tree at 673-1246.
