Letter: What would Jesus say to 'propaganda?'

I was saddened to read the “Homosexuality is wrong behavior” letter to the editor Feb. 7. As the facilitator of a Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender Group in the Yuba-Sutter area, it was sickening to read such ignorant, hateful and discriminating remarks in the local paper. 

While I refuse to get involved myself in a never-ending argument with the letter writer or his followers, I would like to make it known to all individuals within this community that were offended or hurt by the comments, that there is support for you. Some of us are working diligently to end the ignorance propaganda spread by these individuals. The Yuba-Sutter area has many homosexuals and individuals who are confused about their sexuality.

My plea is to the letter writer and those who agree with his ridiculous rant: please consider the fact that your incredibly wrong facts and insensitive comments might push someone who is already feeling isolated to drastic measures, such as suicide.

To the letter writer: those “religious roots” you referred to in your letter – what would Jesus do if he knew that you were saying some very un-Christian words that might hurt another one of his creatures?
