Austin Wagner was the recipient of the $2,000 CattleWomen's scholarship. He attended the University of California, San Diego and plans to attend law school.

Cattlemen, CattleWomen award scholarships

The 2012 Ron Knight Memorial Scholarships and the CattleWomen's scholarships went to three Corning High School graduates.

Timothy Hofman, Dorinda Walker and Austin Wagner were announced as the recipients at the recent Tehama County Cattlemen's Winter Dinner

Wagner was awarded the CattleWomen's $2,000 scholarship. He grew up in Flournoy where he went to elementary school and then attended Corning High School where he was Associate Student Body president. Wagner attended University of California, San Diego, majoring in Political Science and plans to attend law school and practicing in international business.

He spent a summer studying abroad in South Korea, then a summer studying abroad in China before studying for a full year abroad in China, where he is until June.

Hofman and Walker, both 2012 graduates, are the recipients of $2,000 Ron Knight Scholarships.

Walker and Hofman were very active in Corning High FFA, showing livestock at the Tehama District Jr. Livestock Auction and selling the Rodgers Ranch bull at the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale.

Other announced Ron Knight Scholarships are Rose Marie Petros, Emily Andreini, Shirlyn Robley, Brooke Hencratt, Corey Carpenter and Stacy Stroing. Recipients of the CattleWomens' Scholarships are Emily Andreini, Jadda Miller, Brooke Hencratt, Margo Dawley, and Zakry Stroing.
