Harvest Festival set for Oct. 19
Browns Valley Elementary School is hosting its Harvest Festival Oct. 19, sponsored by the school's Parent-Teacher Association.
With free games for kids, a silent auction and vendors, the event is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 9555 Browns Valley School Road in Browns Valley.

FFA to benefit from Chili's sales
Live Oak High School Future Farmers of America is receiving a portion of two days' sales from Chili's Grill and Bar in Yuba City to help raise funds for students attending the FFA national convention in Indianapolis.
The business, at 1300 Annette Way, is donating 15 percent of its sales Oct. 8 and 9. Customers should present a flier to credit a donation to Live Oak FFA.

Community ed offers classes
Beginning salsa dancing is among the wide variety of classes offered through the Yuba College Community Education program.
The one-hour dance class, taught by Jeff and Leslie Zalatel, is at 6:30 Monday Oct. 8 to 29. The fee is $45.
Classes also include:
Traffic school — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 or 20; fee $40 in advance or $45 on the day of the class.
Pharmacy technician program — 6 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday Oct. 16 to Dec. 6; fee $1,000.
"Foreclosures are your best buy" — 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 13; fee $49.
