• All 17 students in Girls on the Run completed their 5K.

• The fourth-graders enjoyed a guest speaker from Gaiser Pets, who brought in several snakes.

• Students raised $950 for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Tierra Buena Elementary School

Yuba City

• During their recent trip to Sacramento, the fourth-grade classes of Vicki Miller, Linda Eamer and Alison Miller toured the Capitol building, learned how laws are made and visited Old Sacramento.

• Today is a kindergarten through third-grade sing-a-long in the multipurpose room.

• Today is also the end of the first semester for grades six, seven and eight and the last day of school until Jan. 14.

Lincoln Elementary School

Yuba City

• Wear your pajamas to school today — it is Pajama Day.

• Today is also the last school day before winter vacation. School will resume Jan. 14.
