Letter: Covillaud school gives thanks for fair day

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A heartfelt thanks goes out to many of you in our community. On May 14, Mary Covillaud Elementary School in Marysville was treated to a fun and educational day at our Nutrition and Health Fair. We began with a solemn ROTC flag ceremony and an interesting martial arts demonstration by the Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts. Students participated throughout the day in activities ranging from food-sampling, games, planting, relay races, bowling, door decorating, and scores of other lessons involving nutrition and health.

We at Covillaud School want to thank the many community volunteers, businesses, agencies, and especially the Nutrition Department of Marysville Joint Unified School District, headed by Ken Llewellyn, and their wellness coordinator, Lori Rainwater, for their tremendous effort. Also included are food vendors for our district, the Dental Health Agency, Beale Air Force Base, Pepsi Company, Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce, Diabetes

Education, Yuba City Kuk Sool Won, California State University of Chico, ROTC, Dairy Council, Mosquito Abatement, Yuba County Library, Marysville High School Agriculture Department, and the staff of Covillaud School.

Doug Escheman, Principal

Janet Crott, 1st Grade Teacher
