What is your dream vacation? A long cruise, probably to the Caribbean. I lived in Mexico for eight years and traveled there, so don't need to do that.
Where do you get your news? TV and newspaper.
What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? I first came when I was 22. My dad bought a business in Gridley.
What do you like about the Yuba-Sutter area? The price of veggies and fruits and the scenery. You can do pretty much anything you want, you have water and hills not too far away.
What is the closest you've been to a famous person? I went to school — St. Anne in Sacramento — with LeVar Burton until the eighth grade and danced with him at the eighth-grade dance. His name was Robert at the time.
What would you do with a million dollars? Make sure my grandkids went to college, take a trip around the world.
Who has had a strong influence in your life? My mother, my sister, my brother.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? I wanted to be a nun until the seventh grade. Then I realized it was not what it looked like — the habits, helping kids, travel.
Favorite places in the area? Around the Sutter Buttes.
What is your dream job? Being a tour guide or concierge in a hotel. I have done both and loved them.
Do you belong to any clubs or organizations in the community? The Yuba City Moose Lodge.
What is one of your fondest memories? Tubing down the Sacramento River.
What would you like to see different in the community? More singles' activities. There's nothing for singles to do.
Favorite book: "The Glass Castle."
Favorite movie: "Harold and Maude" — I love that movie.
What is your pet peeve? Rude people.
