Jack J. Scott
Jack J. Scott, 78, of Yuba City died Sept. 24, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Chico, he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 44 years.
He was the owner and managing partner of the Seven Mile House near Hallwood and worked for the American Red Cross in Vietnam and Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service, including World War II.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Linda.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mae J. Scott of Yuba City; two sons, Dennis Scott of Yuba City and Robert Scott of Chico; two daughters, Marsha Shields and Ellen Root, both of Yuba City; two brothers, Richard Scott and Jerry Scott, both of Sacramento; a sister, Lynn McKeever of Auburn; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Donations may be made to the Yuba-Sutter Chapter of the American Red Cross or Fremont-Rideout Hospice.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, 2023 Highway 99, Gridley. Rev. Phil Hendrix of the Church of Christ in Linda and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel in Gridley.
