Letter: ‘Have you been seeing red paint?'
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Mr. Wally Herger, currently the “world’s worst person” (Aug. 26 Appeal-Democrat article), certainly deserves this distinction [?] ... in these days of vanishing American freedoms.
So now “Party A” calls folks in “Party B” un-American, dangerous, demented, Nazis, etc., but trembles at some delightful sarcasm returned from Party B.
In the same A-D issue, we meet Mrs. Chirikova, a 30ish mother of two living south of Moscow, Russia, in the beautiful Khimki Forest.
While walking through the forest she noticed red paint on many trees, marking their soon destruction to make way for a new road.
Her questioning local authorities of their plans resulted eventually in the near-death beatings of three journalists all because of one issue - they quarreled with the administration.
What has she learned? “They kill the best who pose a threat to them.
We begin trying to fight for our rights, and end up trying to fight for our lives...”
Have you been seeing any red paint on your forest recently?
