Yuba City man wanted in fatal shooting
Anyone with information on 26-year-old Ruben Melicio Zamora is asked to call the Yuba City Police Department at 822-4661.
Police are seeking the public's help to find a Yuba City man wanted in connection with the weekend shooting death of Michael Luis Suarez.
Ruben Melicio Zamora, 32, is accused of murder, police spokeswoman Shawna Pavey said.
"We believe he is responsible for the homicide," she said.
Pavey declined to say whether police believe Zamora fired the gun that killed Suarez, 26, on Saturday morning at his home at 157 Del Monte Avenue.
"At this point in the investigation, we are not going to discuss specific details of the case," Pavey said.
Police said Zamora may have suffered an injury during "the commission of the crime," but did not elaborate.
Three other suspected accessories have been released from jail this week after police arrested them in connection with Suarez's death.
Pavey said all three have been released without charges "pending further investigation." None of them have been cleared of wrongdoing, she said.
Roberto Zamudio Urquidez, 54, was arrested Tuesday and released Thursday. Jedidiah Jose Salazar, 24, and Maria Christina Velasco, 22 were arrested hours after Suarez's death, but released Sunday.
All three were arrested on suspicion of being accessories after the fact.
Citing the investigation, police declined to say whether any additional suspects may be sought in coming days.
Police found Suarez in his garage suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Officers have not said how many times he was shot.
