Colusa

Ministerial group hosts service

The Colusa Ministerial Association is hosting a community Thanksgiving holiday service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church located at the corner of Fifth and Oak streets in Colusa.

The service includes pastors from various churches speaking about the holiday and musical performances by individuals and choirs.

Money raised will go to the Christian Assistance Program which supports local needy families.

Yuba City

Thanksgiving service Sunday

A community Thanksgiving service with the Yuba-Sutter Christian Ministerial Association is set Nov. 18, hosted by St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Yuba City.

The service, at 6 p.m. at 1390 Franklin Road, includes a message by hospital Chaplain Melissa Knight and immigrant faith stories.

Pumpkin pie will be served after the service..

Yuba City

Glad Tidings stages musical

Creative Light Theater is presenting “West of Philly,” a musical comedy, five nights in December at the Church of Glad Tidings in Yuba City.

Set in the early 1920s, the story is about a man dreaming of supporting his family by writing the next big sensation on Broadway.

Performances are at 7 p.m. daily Dec. 7 to 11 at the church’s Embassy Theater, located at Highway 99 and Eager Road.

Admission is free, with donations accepted.

Live Oak

Father’s House benefit fair set

A Christmas craft fair is planned in December to benefit The Father’s House in Live Oak.

With handcrafted items, games and homemade food, the event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at The Spot, 10720 Live Oak Blvd., next to the church, in Live Oak.

Vendors can rent a space for $10.

Yuba City

Lutherans offer child pics

Photo sessions for free keepsake pictures of your child in a handpainted manger scene with baby Jesus will be offered in December at the First Lutheran Church, 850 Cooper Ave., Yuba City.

Photos will be taken from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays Dec. 5, 12 and 19; 3 to 5 p.m. Thursdays Dec. 6, 13 and 20; and 3 to 5 p.m. Fridays Dec. 7, 14 and 21.

Olivehurst

‘Give Away’ items sought

Donations are being accepted for “The Big Give Away,” an event to provide clothes, toys and food to families in need, hosted by the Calvary Christian Center, Plumas Lake/Olivehurst.

The giveaway is from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at 4902 Powerline Road, Olivehurst.

Persons and businesses interested in making a donation can contact Kisha Braxton at the Christian center or call 763-2756.
