Petty Officer Kristopher Shannon

U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Kristopher Shannon is the son of Brian and Kellie Shannon of Sutter. He is brother to Petty Officer 3rd Class Nicholas Shannon, also of Sutter, and grandson to Richard Shannon of Yuba City and Ray and Dolores McAlister of Yuba City.

Shannon attended Sutter High School and was active in golf. He also enjoyed wakeboarding. He graduated in 2003 and joined the Navy in 2005.

Shannon attended basic training at Great Lakes, Ill., earning an expert marksmanship medal. He attended tech school at Oceana Naval Air Station, Virginia Beach, Va., training as an aviation electrician.

Shannon is stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. He recently returned from a six-month tour in Japan and another six-month deployment in Iraq.
