Shariat to speak at Methodist services
Dr. Hormoz Shariat, founder of Iran Alive Ministries, will speak at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, 3101 Colusa Highway, Yuba City.
Shariat, who came to the United States as a muslim student and later converted to Christianity, works with others to broadcast the Christian message into Iran using earth satellites.
His appearance is part of the church’s Global Impact Conference weekend. Admission is free.

St. Isidore is stop for Virgin statue
A stop at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Yuba City is part of the tour of the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima.
The statue will be on display from 3 p.m. Feb. 18 to noon Feb. 19 at the church, 222 S. Clark Ave.
The statue was crafted in 1947 by Jose Thedim based on a description of one of the three girls who reported seeing the Virgin Mary in 1917 in Fatima, Portugal.
The tour is organized by the Pilgrim Virgin Committee of the Diocese of Sacramento.

Hallwood
Nazarene to host recording artist
Award-winning recording artist Peter Lewis Whitebird will perform at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Hallwood Community Church of the Nazarene.
A singer and songwriter, Whitebird’s performance includes a range of music mixed with his ministry and comedy.
Admission is free.
