Letter: Kobayashi gives a lot back to community

As a new resident to Yuba City 23 years ago, my wife, Joellen, a lifelong resident, introduced me to Sharman Kobayashi. Joellen and Sharman had worked together to create a playground at Lincoln School while their children were students.

Joellen had so much to say about Sharman's skills in working with people and the ability to finish a project once started. Sharman not only lived up to my wife's buildup, she has proved so many times over the years that these characteristics are truly what defines her life.

I have had the privilege of working with Sharman on many community projects during the years, and I am always amazed at how much she does, and how much she gives.

To name all of the recognition awards, or tell you of the work she does that is not known of, would take more time than allowed. Sharman works for us, the community.

She recognizes the challenges our schools are facing as well as our educators.

She weighs the facts and makes her decisions on what is best for the students.

Joellen and I encourage you to vote, and vote for Sharman Kobayashi for Board of Trustees, Yuba City Unified School District.
