Letter: Spread the word on motorcycle safety

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Signs of spring’s arrival: The birds, the bees, the flowers, the allergies, the motorcycles. Yes, the motorcycles – they’re popping up like daisies! Google “U.S. motorcycle fatalities” and you will find news stories that they have been on the rise in recent years.

Different reasons for this have been put forward, but the bottom line is that we all have to be more careful. If you ride, get more training, especially if you haven’t ridden most of the winter.  There are many different places for that; check with your local dealer. And if you drive, please watch for bikes when you’re on the road.

There are PSAs that drive home the point at homepage.mac.com/ jbthoo/watchforbikes.html. Check them out.
Let’s buck the national trend and keep Yuba-Sutter motorcycle fatalities down.
