Letter: Nanny state nonsense abounds
I have been watching and reading with great interest the silly laws that the nanny state politicians in Sacramento have been running through the Legislature. I laugh at these fools in Sacramento.
One law that stands out in particular is the anti-smoking law that prevents a person from smoking in their own apartment. What are the poor medical marijuana smoking folks going to do? The car booster seat is another one, especially the approximate $500 fine for noncompliance. I feel that it is excessive, since if one is cited for texting, or talking on their cellphone the fine is only about $25. Now who is most likely to cause an accident?
Gov. Brown (aka "Moonbeam") signed into law something called The Dream Act, so that the illegals can get low-interest loans to go to college. I wish he would pass a Dream Act for those of us who would like to get out of the nanny state. The state could buy our homes for a fair price and pay for shipping our household goods to the new destination. Of course I am dreaming.
